MORGAN JAMES

Me and George - My stories...his music

Saturday 29th October 7:30pm, Studio Theatre

The rollercoaster story of a gay man growing up in a small Welsh mining town in the 1980s, told through the songs of George Michael. Expect humour, emotion and a little Faith...

Tickets £12

'I love this show. Morgan James has a truly stunning voice that rightly deserves comparisons with George Michael. However, his personal story of self-acceptance is equally rich - by turns funny and heart-breaking and always authentic. 'Me & George' is a unique and brilliant evening out and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.' (Amy Phillips, Artistic Director Lantern Arts)

After a sold out appearance at the LAC pre-covid and following a number of recent sell-out performances at London’s premier live music venue, The Crazy Coqs on Piccadilly, award winning actor and singer Morgan James is delighted to return to the LAC with his one man show. Me and George combines Morgan’s stories of growing up a "sensitive" boy in the 1980s in a small Welsh mining town with performances of George Michael’s greatest songs.

Ever since George’s all too early and tragic death, Morgan has wanted to produce and perform a show that highlights the genius of George as a songwriter and celebrate the man and the music. With musical arrangements by Noam Galperin, Morgan sings George’s songs as a soundtrack to moments in his own life and shares his own stories of growing up “different”, his early days in the cut throat acting industry and the highs and lows of becoming a proud out gay man.

An unforgettable evening of laughter, storytelling and outstanding music.
