Children’s Theatre Club
We have four Children’s Theatre Clubs in total. Each group works towards a performance at the end of each term to which friends and family are invited. Occasionally all the Thursday groups work together to create a show! Our aim is to have fun, encourage creativity and put together a high quality performance and, judging by the smiles on the children’s and the audience’s faces, we succeed! Scroll down for our Easter Musical in a week or Summer School.
This term begins on Thursday 4th January and Wednesday 10th January. Saturday rehearsal is 24th February. Shows 9th & 10th March.
A gentle introduction to theatre through fun, games, singing, acting and craft with an informal performance during the final session. The first half of term is a lot of creating craft, set and the script learning songs and rhymes and playing games. The second half is a bit more focussed rehearsing as we go on the actual stage to practise!
Three shows in three age groups are created each term with lines for everyone. Using a mixture of scripts, improvisation, games, role-play, music and film, each term is a whole new experience. Occasionally the groups work together on a larger show. You can do a term then have a term off or you can do three shows a year for many years!
A high standard of theatre is expected of our teenagers and they always deliver. Previous productions include edited versions of Romeo and Juliet, A Winter’s Tale, The Importance of Being Earnest and Of Mice and Men as well as devised pieces about identity, the Passion and a pantomime.
