LANTERN YOUTH CHOIR

Are you 11-16 years old and love singing? Come and join the Lantern Youth Choir!

Led by Jason Ching, these vibrant and fun Saturday morning sessions cover a range of genres from your favourite musicals to pop, gospel and classical.  Throughout each term enjoy an hour of socialising after rehearsal (with exclusive use of Lantern facilities) and multiple performance opportunities. Join us and develop your vocal technique alongside musicianship skills.  Singers with changing voices are very welcome.

Jason Ching - Lantern Youth Choir leader

Jason was a chorister at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace. He later studied music at Royal Holloway and since then, has become a teacher and freelance musician, regularly singing and directing at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square. He enjoys working with young singers on residential choral courses as a section coach with the National Youth Choir, as well as older singers with Wimbledon Oldies Choir - a choir for people with dementia. He also enjoys work as a football coach for the AFC Wimbledon Foundation. www.jasonchingmusic.com

Johnny Keefe - Lantern Youth Choir vocal coach

Jason is frequently joined by Lantern vocal coach, Johnny Keefe. Johnny hails from Boston, Massachusetts, where he was also a chorister and sang in an acapella group with his 3 brothers.  At university he sang with the Harvard Opportunes and as a professional actor and singer has worked in the US, the UK and beyond. For the LAC, Johnny has performed leading roles in productions including: Last Train to Nibroc, Bye Bye Birdie (which he also co-directed), Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat and Godspell.
