The Herd is the brilliant debut play from award winning actor Rory Kinnear:

This play warrants nothing less than a box-office stampede” - The Telegraph

A rare drama about the realities of living with profound disability - funny, thought-provoking and deeply moving.

A wise and truthful new play from Rory Kinnear that has many moments that bring the tears flooding to your eyes” - Chicago Tribune

Performed in real time, Carol is organising a small family party to celebrate her son Andy’s 21st birthday. Not that he’s counting. But Carol is. Counting the minutes until he arrives, counting the unexpected guests, counting the times that something like this has happened before…

Rory Kinnear’s extensive acting career includes the role of Bill Tanner in James Bond films and leading-man roles in Hamlet, Macbeth and Othello at the National Theatre.

Recommended for age 14+. Content warning: this play contains strong language.

Running time: 1hr 45mins with no interval

Doors open at 7pm/2.15pm

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Nick Hern books.
