'MRS RONNIE' OF POLESDEN LACEY
Talk by Siân Evans
Saturday 14th February 2pm, Studio Theatre
Dame Margaret Greville of Polesden Lacey, who styled herself ‘Mrs Ronnie’, rose from humble origins to become a fabulously wealthy and ambitious society hostess, mixing with royalty and politicians. She was close to Edward VII and George VI, and also met Hitler, Mussolini and Churchill. Her rich and fascinating life is full of dark secrets, racy scandal and power-broking intrigue.
Siân Evans is an author and cultural historian living in Raynes Park, who formerly worked for the National Trust and the Victoria and Albert Museum. In August 2026 her latest book ‘1936:The Year of the Three Kings’ will be published by Hodder.
